Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 11, 2026
Welcome to DivorceDate. Your privacy is our highest priority. This Privacy Policy outlines how we
handle information in our mobile application and website, specifically emphasizing our commitment to
user anonymity and decentralized data management.
1. Commitment to Anonymity
Unlike traditional social platforms, DivorceDate is built on a "Privacy First" architecture. We do
not require or collect any personally identifiable information (PII) to use the core features of the
service.
- No Registration: You are not required to provide an email address, phone
number, or social media profile.
- Randomized Identity: Every user is assigned a randomized username upon first
use. You may regenerate this identity at any time within the application settings.
2. Data Collection and Usage
To provide a functional and synchronized experience, we utilize minimal technical identifiers:
- Hardware ID: To persist your private messages, forum posts, and VIP status, we
utilize a unique identifier linked to your device. This allows you to reinstall the app and
retain your data without needing a traditional login.
- OneSignal ID: For push notifications, a separate, randomized UUID is generated.
This ensures that notification services can reach your device without being linked to your
permanent hardware record in an identifiable way.
- Location Data: To enable the "Nearby" feature, we access your device's
geographical coordinates. This information is used solely to calculate distances to other posts
and is not permanently stored as a tracking history.
3. Third-Party Services
We utilize trusted third-party partners for specific infrastructure needs:
- Supabase: Our backend database provider. All data communication is encrypted
via SSL/TLS.
- OneSignal: Used for delivering push notifications.
- Google Mobile Ads: May be used to display advertisements to non-VIP users.
These services may collect certain device identifiers for ad personalization.
4. Data Security
We implement robust technical measures to protect your data. However, as our system is linked to your
device hardware, we recommend maintaining physical control over your device and utilizing its
built-in security features (e.g., FaceID, Passcode).
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the
new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
